What is Obsidian

Obsidian is a bi-linked note management software with Markdown editing, bi-linking, rich plugins, knowledge management, and more. Along with Notion, it is an All-In-One note-taking software tool that starts with notes, not ends with notes.

Of course, Obsidian has its own unique features, such as localized storage, whiteboarding, and so on.

How to use Obsidian

If you want to use Obsidian, you need to be able to write Markdown. For more information about Markdown, you can refer to my Getting Started with Markdown article.

Maybe you've seen a lot of Obsidian tutorials and you feel that they are very complicated, but you don't need them at all. Maybe all you need is a Markdown editor and manager.

The first step is to create a new repository or set up a local folder as a repository; the second step is to create a new file and start editing Markdown.

As for the management features, you probably won't use them at all initially. You'll need to manage your notes when they get to a certain point, and by then you'll have read the official documentation to get a feel for how to manage your knowledge with Obsidian.

My experience with Obsidian

Blogger for Obsidian and Notion consistent, love and hate, but can not give up, can not give up is Obsidian for Markdown rendering ability is too strong, like Typora, Ulysses for a single md file, when the number of text reaches a certain limit and mathematical formulas, their real-time rendering is very crotch, the software is a card! The software is stuck, so it is completely impossible to read and edit. But with Obsidian open completely no problem, still smooth and natural, although I do not know what is the principle behind, but that moment, I know Obsidian I can not let go, its real-time rendering ability in reading a large number of mathematical formulas in the md document, can not be used to describe the performance of excellent, but only it can.

So for bloggers, Obsidian is not their main note-taking software, nor a knowledge management tool, but more of a reader for complex md files.
